Three Defendants in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Fictitious Claim Case Charged with Causing Rp 24.5 Billion in State Losses
Three defendants in the alleged corruption case involving fictitious Work Accident Insurance (JKK) claims at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s DKI Jakarta Regional Office have been charged with causing state losses amounting to Rp 24.5 billion. Prosecutors stated that the defendants engineered the fictitious JKK claims between 2014 and 2024.
The indictment hearing was held at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (9/7/2026). The three defendants are Renu Arinta Shani, a former HR director of a private company and Director of PT Empat Enam Sejahtera; Sri Listiani, a former verification staff member at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan; and Sayoko Adi Nugroho, also a former verification staff member at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
“Committed acts to enrich themselves or others or a corporation, namely witness Sri Listiani, defendant Renu Arinta Shani, and witness Sayoko Adi Nugroho, which caused state financial or economic losses amounting to Rp 24,548,667,498 (24.5 billion),” the prosecutor stated while reading the indictment.
Prosecutors said Renu Arinta used fake data to submit JKK claims to BP Jamsostek from 2014 to 2024. They added that Sri and Sayoko continued to process the claim applications despite knowing the supporting documents had been fabricated.
Jaksa also stated that Sri lent JKK claim documents to Renu to serve as a guide for the fabrication, an act that contravenes applicable regulations.
“Sri Listiani, without authorisation, lent JKK claim documents that had already been paid out to defendant Renu Arinta Shani to be used as examples in fabricating BP Jamsostek workplace accident claims from 2014 to 2024,” the prosecutor said.
Prosecutors noted that the proceeds from the fictitious JKK claims were jointly enjoyed by Sri, Sayoko, and Renu for personal gain. The breakdown shows Renu received Rp 16,336,010,717, Sri received Rp 5,935,093,900, and Sayoko received Rp 1,633,963,361.
“Sri Listiani and witness Sayoko Adi Nugroho, together with defendant Renu Arinta Shani, unlawfully received the proceeds of the fabricated BP Jamsostek workplace accident claims from 2014 to 2024, which were used for personal interests,” the prosecutor said.
Prosecutors charged Renu, Sri, and Sayoko under Article 603 in conjunction with Article 20 letter C in conjunction with Article 126 paragraph 1 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law, or alternatively Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 20 letter C in conjunction with Article 126 paragraph 1 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
