The Jakarta Military Court II-08 held a hearing on Monday (18/5/2026) for the reading of indictments against the defendants involved in the alleged kidnapping and murder of a bank branch manager in Jakarta, identified by the initials MIP (37). The three defendants—Serka MN, Kopda FH, and Serka FY—are accused of participating in the series of events leading to the victim’s death.

Endah Wulandari, Spokesperson for the Jakarta Military Court II-08, confirmed that the agenda for today’s session was the reading of the prosecution’s demands by the Military Prosecutor II-07 Jakarta. The hearing was scheduled to take place in the Garuda Courtroom, the court’s main chamber.

Military Prosecutor Major (Chk) Wasinton Marpaung detailed the charges against the three soldiers. All three are alleged to have acted together in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of MIP. For the first defendant, Serka MN, the prosecution has presented layered charges. The primary charge is Article 340 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the KUHP, regarding premeditated murder committed jointly. As secondary and tertiary alternatives, he faces charges under Article 338 and Article 351 paragraph 3 of the KUHP, respectively.

Additionally, MN faces an alternative charge under Article 333 paragraph 3 of the KUHP concerning the deprivation of liberty resulting in death, as well as a cumulative charge under Article 181 of the KUHP regarding the alleged concealment of the victim’s body. The second defendant, Kopda FH, faces a similar indictment structure, including premeditated murder and deprivation of liberty. The third defendant, Serka FY, faces a nearly identical legal construction, ranging from premeditated murder to the deprivation of liberty causing death.
