Three Dead, Four Survive in Medan Luxury Home Explosion
An explosion at a luxury home in the Grand Polonia complex in Medan, North Sumatra, has left three people dead and four others injured. The deceased were identified as Jesika, the wife of the homeowner, and two others named Ros and Sinta.
Medan Police Chief Commissioner Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak confirmed that all victims had been evacuated from the scene by Tuesday evening. The four survivors include a two-year-old girl, the homeowner’s father Hasan, a courier named Yuda, and a driver whose identity has not yet been confirmed.
Authorities are currently conducting a screening of the location and gathering evidence to determine the cause of the explosion. The investigation is being carried out in collaboration with the state-owned gas company PGN. “We have secured several pieces of evidence, including CCTV footage. The screening process is being conducted jointly to ascertain whether there were any other substances present,” Commissioner Calvijn stated.
