Flooding inundated Patrasana Village, Kresek District, Tangerang Regency from Monday 8 March through Wednesday 11 March. Water levels reached between 30 centimetres and one metre, submerging hundreds of residential homes.

Field observations showed that floodwaters continued to block the connecting road between Patrasana Village and Pasir Ampo Village. Several motorcyclists were forced to push their vehicles across the flooded roads.

The floodwaters also continued to inundate residential areas that had been affected by the flooding for three days.

Patrasana Village Chief Muhammad Sobri stated that the flooding occurred in nine neighbourhood units (RT): RT 01, 06, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16. A total of 890 homes were submerged.

“The total number of affected families is 1,200 households, affecting approximately 3,000 people from this flooding,” Sobri said.

Of the total affected population, 200 people have evacuated to Patrasana Village Office, which was converted into an emergency evacuation centre.

“The others have evacuated to relatives’ homes, family members’ houses, or to higher ground locations,” Sobri explained.

A resident named Kariban attributed the flooding to the overflow of Cidurian River following heavy rainfall in the area.

“The high rainfall caused the Cidurian River to overflow and resulted in flooding here,” he stated.

He noted that affected residents had not yet received logistical assistance. Needed supplies include food, medicine, and blankets.

“So far there has been nothing. What residents need are blankets, food, and medicine,” he concluded.
