Three Daop 8 Surabaya Train Journeys Cancelled Due to Bekasi Timur Train Accident
Three train journeys (KA) in the KAI Daop 8 Surabaya region were cancelled on Tuesday (28/4/2026), as a result of the KRL and Agro Bromo Anggrek train accident at Bekasi Timur Station, West Java, on Monday (27/4/2026) night.
“We convey our apologies for the cancellation of train journeys on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. This decision was taken considering aspects of safety and security of travel,” stated Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 8 Surabaya, Mahendro Trang Bawono, as reported by Antara on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
The cancellation of these journeys is an effort to support the handling of the incident and ensure that travel safety remains maintained.
As a form of responsibility, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI ensures a 100 percent refund of ticket fares (excluding booking fees) for affected passengers.
The cancellation process can be done through the Access by KAI application or at station counters.
Mahendro stated that his side will continue to provide updates on train journey operations through official channels, including Contact Center 121 and WhatsApp (WA) services.
“KAI is committed to continuing to provide the best service by ensuring customer safety remains the top priority in every condition,” he said.
