Three Customs Officials to Be Charged with Accepting Bribes and Gratuities Totalling Rp 71 Billion
Prosecutors from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have transferred the case files of three officials from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance to the Central Jakarta Corruption Court. The prosecutors are now awaiting the court’s scheduling of the trial.
The three customs officials are Rizal, Director of Enforcement and Investigation; Sisprian Subiaksono, Sub-Directorate Head of Intelligence at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation; and Orlando Hamonangan, Head of Customs Intelligence Section I at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation.
“The process is currently ongoing and we will next await the issuance of the trial schedule,” said KPK prosecutor M Takdir Suhan in a statement on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
The prosecutor stated that Rizal, Sisprian, and Orlando will be charged with accepting bribes and gratuities totalling more than Rp 71 billion. The transfer of their case files was carried out today.
“The defendants are charged with both bribery and gratuity offences, with the nominal amount reaching more than Rp 71 billion, including in the form of foreign currency,” he said.
For context, three private sector defendants in this case have already undergone their sentencing hearings. They are defendant I, John Field, the head of Blueray Cargo; defendant II, Deddy Kurniawan Sukolo, the operational manager of Blueray Cargo; and defendant III, Andri, the head of the documents team at Blueray Cargo.
The sentencing demands for the three defendants are as follows:
John Field: 3 years imprisonment and a fine of Rp 300 million, subsidiary to 100 days of confinement.
Deddy Kurniawan Sukolo: 2.5 years imprisonment and a fine of Rp 200 million, subsidiary to 80 days of confinement.
Andri: 2.5 years imprisonment and a fine of Rp 200 million, subsidiary to 80 days of confinement.
