A total of 249 correctional inmates (WBP) at Selong Class II B Prison were proposed to receive Lebaran 2026 remission, including three inmates convicted of corruption. The head of Selong Class IIB Prison, Sudirman, said the remission proposals have been submitted to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) through the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjen PAS) and are currently in the verification stage.

“A total of 349 people have we proposed to obtain RK I to Ditjen PAS; currently in verification stage,” Sudirman said on Thursday (5 March 2026).

The breakdown of the inmates is as follows: 146 inmates convicted of general criminal offenses (pidum), 200 inmates convicted of narcotics offences, and 3 inmates convicted of corruption. The amount of remission proposed varies, from 15 days, 1 month, 1 month 15 days to 2 months.

“There are no exemptions; as long as they meet the requirements under the Act, they will be proposed. The entire submission process also goes through the Correctional Database System (SDP) online after approval in the Prison Supervisory Team’s session,” Sudirman said.

Sudirman noted that the category of inmates proposed includes those who have shown attitude and behaviour changes during their sentence. Moreover, inmates who actively participate in rehabilitation and prison programmes are also a determining factor for being proposed for remission.

“This rehabilitation programme will be evidenced through the report of the Prisoner Rehabilitation Assessment System (SPPN). SPPN is prepared by each correctional officer,” Sudirman said.

Sudirman added that the proposed remission decree for Eid al-Fitr is usually received one day before the celebration. “Once the SK is issued, we will distribute it to the remission recipients on Eid al-Fitr,” he added.
