The discovery of a man’s remains, reduced to skeletal remains in a forest in Malaka, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has been one of the most attention-grabbing events of the past week. The man was killed by his two biological children and one stepchild.

In East Lombok, the Selong branch of the Social Security Administering Body for Employment (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) is set to disburse Old Age Benefit (JHT) funds totalling Rp 804 million to retired village heads in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). A total of 87 former village heads are set to receive these funds.

Three Children Kill Father
Police have uncovered a brutal murder case involving Antonius Nana (47), perpetrated by his three children: YDA (27), ADN (18), and AN (17). YDA is a stepchild, while ADN and AN are biological children. The remains of Antonius, consisting only of a skull, were found in a forest in Kampung Baru, Malaka, NTT, on Tuesday (12/05/2026).
Criminal Investigation Unit Chief of Malaka Police, Inspector Dominggus Duran, stated that all suspects have been detained. The murder reportedly began following an argument after Antonius returned from Malaysia on 28 April 2026. After a physical altercation, the children allegedly assaulted Antonius until he lost consciousness and transported him to a location 500 metres from his home to bury him. Upon realising the victim was still alive, YDA allegedly used a machete to kill him before the group proceeded with the burial.
Retired Village Heads to Receive Rp 844 Million in JHT Funds
The Selong branch of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan will pay out Old Age Benefit (JHT) funds totalling Rp 844 million to retired village heads in East Lombok. The 87 former officials are expected to receive their funds in July. The amount varies based on their period of service and previous wages. The Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Selong, Muhammad Yohan Firmansyah, explained that the JHT is a lump-sum payment upon termination of employment, distinct from monthly pension benefits. He also noted that total claims paid in East Lombok up to April 2026 reached Rp 12.6 billion across 1,289 cases.
