Three Cars Badly Damaged After Being Hit by Fallen Trees in Bandung
Heavy rain, ranging from moderate to heavy, accompanied by strong winds, struck Bandung on Wednesday afternoon. In total, 15 trees toppled in various locations, damaging vehicles and buildings.
Amires Pahala, head of the Prevention and Preparedness Division of Bandung City BPBD, said the weather conditions caused several trees to fall and damaged vehicles and buildings. ‘The weather conditions caused several trees to fall in various locations and resulted in damage to vehicles and buildings,’ he said on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
One incident occurred on Jalan Soekarno Hatta in Kebon Lega, Bojongloa Kidul District, where a tree fell on two four-wheeled vehicles. Other tree-fall points included SDN 265 Bandung Kulon on Jalan Cibadak; a tree fell on a car on Jalan Sulanjana; trees fell at Taman Tegalega; at Ujungberung town square; on Jalan Cipadung; at Jalan Pagarsih.
Additionally, trees fell at Regol town square; Jalan Ambon; Jalan Terusan Pasirkoja; Jalan Soekarno Hatta in front of Riung restaurant. Trees fell on Jalan Desa in Cipadung Kidul, Panyileukan District; a tree damaged a building on Jalan Papanggungan in Kebon Kangkung. A tree fell on Jalan Tera in Braga; another on Jalan Galunggung in Lingkar Selatan. A roof was shifted by strong winds on Jalan Cilengkrang and a tree struck two cars on Jalan Soekarno Hatta.
‘Three vehicles were struck by trees. Damages to vehicles ranged from minor to severe, while damages to buildings were minor,’ he said.
He said public activity was temporarily disrupted and there were no fatalities reported. Authorities evacuated and cut down fallen trees, cleared debris and normalised traffic flows. ‘Avoid sheltering under trees or parking vehicles beneath trees during rain and strong winds. Be vigilant for old, brittle or leaning trees in and around the neighbourhood,’ he added. In addition, people were advised to reduce outdoor activities during extreme weather and ensure roofs and other parts of homes are safe.
