Three Bogor Station Platforms Extended: When Will They Be Completed?
Three platforms at Bogor Station in West Java are being extended to support Commuter Line operations with a 12-car formation (SF12). The platform extensions for lines 6, 7 and 8 have been underway since April 2026 and are targeted to be completed in July 2026. Anne explained that operating a 12-car formation will provide greater capacity per journey, improving passenger distribution, especially during peak hours. “With greater capacity in a single journey, services are expected to run more smoothly and the passenger travel experience will be more comfortable,” she said. In addition to platform extensions and track adjustments, the revamp also includes the construction of new canopies on the platforms for lines 6, 7 and 8. The canopies are designed to connect directly with the station concourse area to enhance passenger comfort while waiting or moving between platforms, particularly in wet and hot weather. During the revamp, operational patterns and passenger service flows at the station have been adjusted. To support smooth passenger mobility, a temporary pedestrian area has been prepared on the concourse side and passenger flow management has been implemented during peak hours. Passengers heading to the West Hall can be directed via the Paledang Pedestrian Bridge (JPO), while others are directed to the Hall Taman Topi and the East Entrance of Bogor Station. “Development and improvement of service facilities are being carried out progressively while prioritising the safety of the Commuter Line journey and passengers,” said Anne. “During the revitalisation process, we recognise there may be adjustments that affect passenger comfort. We apologise and urge customers to stay cautious and follow staff instructions in the station area,” she added.
