SURABAYA, East Java: A passenger bus, number plate L-3768-MA, crashed on the Gempol-Surabaya toll road, leaving 21 passengers injured, three of them in a critical condition.

Witnesses said the accident occurred when the bus, which was full of passengers, tried to avoid potholes but then skidded and crashed into the edge of the highway.

The bus was badly damaged, according to reports.

The three who suffered serious injuries in the accident were taken to Sutomo General Hospital in the city, for intensive care. --Antara
