Semarang — The government has implemented a ban on operational restrictions for three-axle or heavier cargo transport trucks in Central Java starting Friday, 13 March 2026 at 12.00 WIB.

The truck restriction policy applies to both motorways and national roads and is enforced during the 2026 Eid exodus period.

The regulation is set out in a Joint Decision (SKB) signed by the Director General of Land Transportation, the Head of the National Police Traffic Corps, and the Director General of Road Infrastructure.

“Implementation starts from Friday, 13 March 2026 at 12.00 WIB until Sunday, 29 March 2026 at 24.00 WIB,” Aidil told Kompas.com recently.

Several motorway sections in Central Java will implement the restriction on cargo transport vehicle operations.

Meanwhile, restrictions are also being enforced on various national roads or non-toll routes.

Vehicles transporting vital supplies for the community are permitted to pass through. These include vehicles carrying petroleum fuel and gas, livestock, fertiliser, disaster relief assistance, and staple goods such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, and fruit.

However, these vehicles must carry official cargo documentation from the cargo owner.

With the truck operational restrictions during the 2026 Eid exodus period, the public is advised to pay attention to the applicable traffic management measures to ensure journeys remain smooth, safe, and comfortable.
