Jakarta — Three-axle trucks and large vehicles are prohibited from using Jakarta tolls during the Eid holiday exodus period in 2026.

Kombes Pol Komarudin, Director of Traffic at the Jakarta Metro Police, stated that the restriction will be implemented from 13 March through 25 March 2026 during Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026.

“We urge business operators and transporters to comply with this three-axle truck restriction, beginning on the 13th, and there is a possibility it may be extended if we observe return traffic conditions,” Komarudin told reporters on Monday, 9 March 2026.

The restriction is being implemented to ensure the comfort of holiday travellers, who are expected to congest the major exit routes from Jakarta.

Komarudin added that the restriction excludes the transport of essential foodstuffs and other important logistics.

“We will strictly limit the operation of large vehicles during those dates,” he stated firmly.

However, he urged business operators to replace their distribution vehicles with smaller ones where possible.

Exceptions will be made only if drivers are genuinely disrupting the comfort of other road users.

The peak exodus traffic is predicted to commence on Monday, 16 March 2026 through Wednesday, 18 March 2026.

In addition to the three-axle truck restrictions, police have also urged the public not to carry excessive loads when travelling with private vehicles during the holiday period.

“Do not overload your vehicles; comply with traffic regulations. We hope there will be no obstacles during your journey,” he said.
