Three arrested for diploma forgery

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Medan Police arrested on Monday three people suspected of belonging to a high school and university diploma forgery ring.

During the arrest on Jl. Binjai here, police also seized several pieces of evidence, including a desktop computer, three forged diplomas and bogus stamps from various universities and schools in Medan.

The suspects told police they sold fake undergraduate diplomas for between Rp 7 million (US$736.80) and Rp 10 million, and fake high school diplomas for between Rp 2.5 million and Rp 4 million, Medan Police chief of detectives Adj. Comr. Maruli Siahaan said. -- JP
