JAKARTA — A number of individual contract service providers (PJLP) employed by the DKI Jakarta provincial government have complained about deductions totalling between Rp 1.5 million and Rp 2 million from their holiday allowances (THR).

The workers claim they never received any socialisation regarding the mechanism or purpose of the deductions.

“There was no socialisation at all about this. Even now, there is no information about how the deduction mechanism works. I don’t even know what the deduction is for — whether it’s for infrastructure or something else,” said one PJLP worker, Nina (not her real name), to Kompas.com on Wednesday (11 March 2026).

Nina subsequently asked other PJLP workers about the matter and discovered they had experienced similar deductions.

“I asked others, and it turned out they had the same thing, some even worse than my Rp 1.5 million,” she said.

Because of this, Nina questioned the deduction mechanism, stating she had never received prior socialisation about it.

“My friends are also confused about how the deduction is calculated. Even now, there’s no information about the mechanism. And I don’t know what the deduction is for either,” said Nina.

“There’s nothing at all. We only know through rumours,” she added.

Another worker, Romudin, said the THR deduction he received amounted to Rp 1.9 million.

He expressed shock upon learning the amount that had been transferred to his account when the payment was processed on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

“I had a total deduction of Rp 1.9 million. I was very shocked when it came through yesterday,” said Romudin.

According to him, there had been deductions in previous years as well, but the amounts were not as large as this time.

“In the past there were deductions too, but normally only hundreds of thousands of rupiah,” he said.
