Thousands show up at job expo

PEKANBARU: Long lines of job-seekers was the order of the day at the Riau Job Expo 2005 on the Riau University campus and Aditya radio station in Pekanbaru on Wednesday.

Beginning at dawn, the job-seekers began arriving at the two venues to fill out registration forms. According to the expo's organizing committee, more than 1,500 people registered.

Because of such high demand by job-seekers, the committee added registration venues at the Caltek polytechnic campus and the manpower office.

According to the exhibition coordinator Chairul Fuad, people living outside the city could get the registration forms online, at www.riaujobexpo.com. -- JP
