Thousands of students in Batang, Central Java, given deworming medication to enhance nutrient absorption from food

Health officials demonstrated deworming medication while explaining its use to students at SDN Karangasem 05 in Batang Regency, Central Java, on Thursday (9/4/2026). The local government, via Puskesmas Batang II, distributed free deworming drugs to around 3,000 pupils in 17 primary schools and madrasahs in Batang Regency, with the goal of countering worm infections so that the students’ bodies can maximally absorb nutrients from food, thereby promoting cognitive development and enhancing academic achievement.
