Thousands of Residents Pack the Mini Ogoh-Ogoh Parade in Jembrana

Thousands of residents filled Jalan Surapati, in the Civic Centre area of the Jembrana Regent’s Office, on Saturday (7/3/2026). They were enthusiastic to watch the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade for Early Childhood Education (PAUD) across Jembrana Regency, attended by 29 contingents with a total of 50 mini ogoh-ogoh. They watched performances by PAUD children displaying mini ogoh-ogoh with various creations. In addition to featuring mini baleganjur gamelan and short dance fragments aligned with each theme, several contingents also used other traditional musical instruments such as kul-kul to accompany the ogoh-ogoh being carried. The organising committee chair, A.A.B. Hendra Sugihantara Putra, said this year’s parade carried the theme “ATMA KERTHI: Sowing Cultural Seeds, Reaping a Wise Generation.” The theme emphasises the importance of togetherness among family, school, and community in preserving Balinese culture. “This year there are 29 contingents with a total of 50 mini ogoh-ogoh. The parade route starts from the western side of Pura Jagadnata, passes by the Civic Centre, and ends in front of the Jembrana Regent’s Office,” Hendra told detikBali on Saturday. The committee also applied a scoring system based on the neatness of the line, independence, collaboration, timeliness, and partnerships between schools and parents. Moreover, all participants were urged to bring their own tumbler or drinking bottle as a reflection of support for the policy to reduce single-use plastic waste. “We hope this event can continue to develop as an annual agenda.
