Thousands of Residents in Three Bekasi Sub-districts Struggle for Clean Water Amid Drought
Thousands of residents in three sub-districts of Bekasi Regency, West Java, are experiencing difficulties accessing clean water as the dry season intensifies. In response, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bekasi Regency has distributed 380,000 litres of clean water to approximately 2,416 families affected by the drought. The water distribution, carried out using tanker trucks, took place in Ridogalih Village, Cibarusah, on Monday, 13 July 2026, as part of efforts to meet the basic water needs of the community during the prolonged dry spell. Residents were seen collecting water using buckets and gallon containers from the BPBD tanker trucks.
