Thousands of Nagan Raya flood victims receive meat aid from President

Nagan Raya (ANTARA) - Thousands of flood-affected residents in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang Subdistrict, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh, have received fresh buffalo meat aid from President Prabowo Subianto to welcome the Meugang Tradition for Eid al-Fitr. “This aid represents a tangible expression of care from President Prabowo Subianto towards the conditions of the people in the interior of Nagan Raya, who have been afflicted by natural disasters. Thank you, Mr President,” said the Regent of Nagan Raya, Teuku Raja Keumangan, on Wednesday. He explained that the aid consists of buffalo and cattle livestock, which is now being distributed to residents in disaster-affected areas, and some of the community have already enjoyed the donated buffalo and cattle. Regent Teuku Raja Keumangan stated that in mid-February, thousands of residents in Nagan Raya Regency also received buffalo and cattle livestock aid for the Meugang Tradition ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah. “On behalf of the Nagan Raya Regency Government and the entire community, we extend our utmost gratitude to Mr Prabowo. May he always be under the guidance and protection of Allah SWT,” he added. The Meugang Tradition is a sacred custom of cooking meat and sharing meals with family that holds great importance for the people of Aceh ahead of the holiday. The arrival of this aid is hoped to ease the burdens of the residents and bring cheer amid the post-flood recovery period.
