REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG – Thousands of Muhammadiyah worshippers held Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriyah prayers at Lodaya Field, Jalan Lodaya, Bandung City, on Friday morning (20/3/2026). The preacher was Prof Hilman Latif. The Eid al-Fitr prayers began at 06.30 WIB and were followed by a sermon. In his sermon, the preacher highlighted social issues such as online gambling, unemployment, and the high divorce rate in West Java. Therefore, the preacher called on Muhammadiyah worshippers to become exemplary families and individuals. He urged Muslims not to be complacent. “A great nation is a disciplined nation, capable of utilising life’s time productively and beneficially, disciplined in studying to seek knowledge and develop understanding,” he said in front of the worshippers on Friday (20/3/2026). He stated that Indonesia, with the world’s largest Muslim population, must advance and succeed. In addition, it must be noble and full of discipline. “Becoming a disciplined individual can provide benefits to others,” he said. Regional Manager of Lazis Jabar Sani Sonjaya said the number of worshippers performing Eid al-Fitr prayers at Lodaya Field reached 3,000 to 5,000 people. He hoped the Eid al-Fitr prayers would run well and smoothly. “For the worshippers earlier, some came from Lembang, Cimahi, and others made the effort to come here, but the majority were Muhammadiyah communities around Lodaya Field,” he said.
