Jakarta (ANTARA) - Thousands of Da’i and Da’iat, entrepreneurs, and Minang diaspora scattered across Indonesia and abroad will inaugurate the central office of the Da’i Perantau Minang (Daram) at Jalan Hankam, Pondok Gede, Bekasi on Saturday morning.

“There will be thousands of participants attending this inauguration both in person and online, involving attendees from within the country and abroad,” said the General Chairman of DPP Daram, Buya Dr Elfa Mukhlis, accompanied by Daram Chairman Buya Chairat and Committee Chairman Buya Supriyadi in Jakarta on Friday.

He stated that Daram is a community organisation serving as a gathering place for ulama, da’i, and Islamic activists originating from Minangkabau who are spread throughout the world.

According to him, Daram was founded on 8 August 2018, with its centre in Jakarta, and has developed rapidly with 16 Regional Representative Councils (DPW) in Indonesia and presence in 15 countries through Foreign Representative Councils (DPLN).

“The DPLN of Daram are in the United States, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Japan, and others,” he said.

He mentioned that this DPP office is a promise from the general chairman that has now been fulfilled, and the office will be used for community, humanitarian, and religious activities.

“Tomorrow’s event will be attended by da’i and Minang diaspora who will gather together and plan various social and economic activities simultaneously,” he said.

He added that DPP Daram also plans to build the Islamic Center Daram International (ICDI), which will be constructed on a 75-hectare plot of land.

On this land, an Islamic Center area and its supporting facilities will be built on 10 hectares.

Then, 35 hectares will be developed into an integrated Islamic residential area, combined with educational, health, business, educational tourism zones, and others.

“This is an integrated Islamic area and a centre for community economic activities,” he said.

According to him, this programme is planned to run over the next five years. In the first year, comprehensive socialisation will be conducted to the Minangkabau community both at home and abroad.

“We will socialise this programme for a year to invite investors, communities, and the public to get involved in these activities,” he said.

According to him, for the location so far, they already have options starting from Babelan in Bekasi, Parung in Bogor, Jonggol, and others.

“We will launch this programme tomorrow and begin the socialisation,” he said.
