Jakarta (ANTARA) - Thousands of mangrove seedlings were planted in the coastal area of Rusunawa Marunda as an effort to preserve the environment and mitigate climate change in coastal regions.

“Protecting the coastal ecosystem is very important, and mangrove planting efforts offer numerous benefits,” said Marunda Ward Head Vicktor Hotma Parulian in Jakarta on Thursday.

He stated that the various benefits from this mangrove planting include preventing abrasion, improving environmental quality, and serving as habitats for various marine biota.
