Thousands of Madrasah Scout Camp Participants in South Sulawesi Perform Istisqa Prayer

Thousands of participants of the 2026 South Sulawesi Province Madrasah Scout Camp (KPMP), held at the Yasin Limpo Cadika Camping Ground in Gowa Regency, performed the Istisqa prayer to pray for rainfall amidst a prolonged drought on Thursday (3/9/2026).

The Istisqa prayer was led by Solihin, an Islamic Religious Counselor from the Gowa Ministry of Religious Affairs, and was attended by thousands of participants, including officials from the South Sulawesi Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office, the Chairman of Baznas, the Gowa FKUB, and the Chairman of the Gowa MUI, KH Abubakar Pakka.

“May the rain that descends be a blessing and happiness for us all, so that it may be utilised to perfect our worship to You and meet our life’s needs,” said KH Abubakar during his prayer.

The former head of the Gowa Ministry of Religious Affairs office prayed to Allah SWT for the immediate descent of rain that brings benefit, mercy, and blessings to the people of Gowa Regency and the entire South Sulawesi region.

He also prayed that the descending rain would become a source of life, fertilise the soil, meet the community’s water needs, and provide ease for the people in carrying out their daily activities and religious observances.
