Thousands of Koplo Pills Circulate in Pekalongan and Karanganyar

Central Java Regional Police’s Narcotics Directorate has revealed the circulation of thousands of koplo pills in Pekalongan City and Karanganyar Regency. The pills are of types Yarindo, Hexymer, Trihexyphenidyl, and Tramadol.

Central Java Police Narcotics Directorate Chief, Senior Commissioner Yos Guntur Susanto, stated that from two raids conducted on Thursday (16/4), three suspects have been named.

In the raid in Pekalongan Regency, police apprehended AF (27), a resident of North Aceh, at a tyre repair shop in Podosugih Ward, Pekalongan City. According to Yos, AF was carrying a backpack containing thousands of various dangerous pills.

“In further development, thousands more dangerous pills were found at the suspect’s boarding house in Kauman Ward, Pekalongan City,” he said in Semarang on Saturday, 18 April 2026.

From the suspect’s statement, the thousands of pills were obtained from an individual. AF, who has been distributing koplo pills for nine months, claimed to receive a salary of Rp3 million per month. Meanwhile, in Karanganyar Regency, said Yos, officers uncovered the sale of dangerous pills at a shophouse in Gaum Ward, Tasikmadu Subdistrict.

Police apprehended GS (27) along with hundreds of various koplo pills. “The suspect admitted to only being tasked with selling these dangerous pills for a daily wage of Rp50,000,” he said.

In further development, police apprehended MI (29) at a boarding house in Bejen Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency. At MI’s boarding house, police seized thousands of various dangerous pills.

According to Yos, they are still hunting for the individual supplying the dangerous pills to suspect MI. For their actions, the perpetrators are charged under Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health.
