PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) launched the Mudik Balik Bareng Honda (MBBH) programme on Saturday, 14 March 2026. This annual initiative, now in its 18th year, reflects the company’s commitment to providing safer mudik journeys and supporting government efforts to improve road safety during the Lebaran period.

The departure ceremony was held at AHM Sunter in North Jakarta. A total of 2,521 homebound travellers departed using 60 executive buses bound for two destinations: 1,601 passengers were transported to Yogyakarta, whilst 920 travelled to Semarang, Central Java.

Previously, 1,116 Honda motorcycles belonging to participants had been dispatched on 32 freight trucks on Thursday, 12 March 2026 from the Bhanda Ghara Reksa car park in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

Antok Yuniarso, General Manager of AHM’s Honda Customer Care Centre (HC3) Division, explained that mudik holds significant cultural meaning for Indonesian society as an occasion for family reunification.

“We understand that homebound journeys carry stories and hopes of reuniting with loved ones. Through Mudik Balik Bareng Honda, we wish to help our loyal Honda customers undertake this journey more safely, comfortably, and joyfully,” said Antok.

Beyond providing bus transportation and motorcycle haulage, AHM offers participants various facilities, including two bus seats per motorcycle transported, travel insurance, travel kits, and opportunities to win attractive prizes. As part of its road safety awareness initiative, AHM educates participants through the #Cari_Aman safety campaign, emphasising passenger capacity limits, proper luggage regulations, and appropriate safety equipment usage whilst riding motorcycles in rural areas.

AHM and its Honda dealer network have established 175 Bale Santai Honda (BSH) rest stations across mudik routes nationwide. These facilities provide free amenities for motorcyclists, including air-conditioned rest areas, prayer rooms, televisions, light refreshments, electric massage services, and basic motorcycle inspection and servicing for Honda motorcycles.
