Thousands of Basic Food Packages Distributed to Students Affected by Forest Fires

Students queued to collect basic food aid packages at the Central Kalimantan Governor’s official residence in Palangka Raya on Wednesday (16/09/2026). The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government is distributing 3,500 food packages to students as a form of support amidst the impacts of forest and land fires (karhutla).

Each package contains five kilograms of rice, two litres of cooking oil, and one kilogram of sugar. This assistance is expected to help meet the food requirements of students while the conditions of haze and the impacts of forest fires are still being felt in several areas of Central Kalimantan.
