Thousands Mob Jokowi as He Snacks at Lampung MSME Stalls
Amid a packed political agenda and visits to various regions in Lampung, Indonesia’s seventh President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) took time to stop by the Maliosewu MSME centre in Pringsewu Regency. At the location, he not only greeted residents but also bought simple snacks, namely sweet iced tea and grilled sausages.
Jokowi’s presence at the Maliosewu MSME centre in Bulukarto Village, Gadingrejo District, on Saturday, 27 June 2026, was met with enthusiasm by thousands of residents who had been crowding the area since morning. Hundreds of food stalls lined the Maliosewu area. As soon as Jokowi arrived, residents from various areas around Pringsewu jostled to get close to shake his hand or capture the moment with a selfie.
In between greeting the public, Jokowi was seen walking around looking at the stalls of MSME players selling a variety of local foods and snacks. He then bought sweet iced tea and grilled sausages sold in the area. Jokowi was accompanied by PSI Daily Chairman Ahmad Ali, PSI Lampung Chairman Achmad Ridho Julian, several other PSI officials, and Pringsewu Regent Riyanto Pamungkas.
The visit to the Maliosewu MSME centre was part of the second day of Jokowi’s agenda in Lampung Province. The former president’s presence is expected to provide a boost for the development of MSMEs while stimulating the local economy. After visiting the MSME area, Jokowi continued his journey to the Lampung Transmigration Museum in Pesawaran Regency. Upon arrival, he was again enthusiastically welcomed by the public before entering the museum area with his entourage.
Jokowi began his nationwide tour on Friday, 26 June 2026, with Lampung as the first city. He is scheduled to spend three days in the province. Before departing from Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo, Jokowi was seen wearing a shirt and cap bearing the logo of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). He stated that his schedule in Lampung had been arranged and would be filled with various activities alongside volunteers and PSI.
