Thousands Gather for Grand Tabliq Event in Central Lombok to Welcome Provincial MTQ

Thousands of residents crowded the Central Lombok Regent’s Office to participate in a grand Tabliq event themed ‘Central Lombok Salawat’, held in anticipation of the 31st Provincial level Musabaqoh Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) for West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), which will be hosted in Central Lombok on 9 June 202\026.

Participants began arriving at the office around 7:00 PM WITA on Wednesday (3/6/2026), many dressed in coordinated white and black attire as requested by the organisers. The event featured KHR Achmad Azaim Ibrahimy, the caretaker of the Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Sukorejo Islamic Boarding School from Situbondo, East Java. Also in attendance were the Regent of Central Lombok, Lalu Pathul Bahri; members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) RI for NTB, Ibnu Khalil; and various high-ranking local officials, including the Head of the Central Lombok District Attorney’s Office, the Chief of Police, and the District Military Commander.

In his address, Regent Pathul stated that the event was organised to seek blessings and guidance for the smooth execution of the upcoming 31st Provincial MTQ. He noted that the competition is expected to involve approximately 1,700 participants from all regencies and cities across West Nusa Tenggara and will run for one week starting from 9 June 2026.

Pathul emphasised that the gathering was a momentum to strengthen Islamic brotherhood and increase devotion to the Al-Quran. He remarked that while political and official titles are temporary, the devotion to the Al-Quran remains eternal. The Gerindra politician also expressed his gratitude to the organisers and the Alumni Association of Salafiyah Syafi’iyah (IKSAS) in Central Lombok for initiating the programme and for their ongoing collaboration with the local government.
