Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 1,382 people have been affected by waterlogging and flooding across the East Jakarta administrative area, though no evacuations have been recorded to date.
“The number of people affected by waterlogging stands at 1,382. At present, no evacuation points, displaced households, or displaced individuals have been recorded,” said Rangga Bima Setiawan, Head of the Disaster Management Task Force for the East Jakarta Administrative City, when contacted in Jakarta on Friday.
In detail, the waterlogging occurred across two sub-districts covering five urban villages. A total of 12 community associations (RW) and 30 neighbourhood associations (RT) were affected, encompassing 432 households or 1,382 individuals.
“Waterlogging data for the East Jakarta Administrative City as of Friday, 20 February 2026, up to 12.00 Western Indonesian Time, shows two affected sub-districts, five urban villages, 12 RW and 30 RT,” Rangga said.
Nevertheless, as of Friday afternoon, no evacuation points had been established, indicating that the majority of residents chose to remain in their homes.
Joint response teams continued to conduct field monitoring and coordinate with relevant agencies to anticipate potential increases in water discharge.
Waterlogging and flooding struck several locations in East Jakarta, including Jatinegara Sub-district, starting from the Kampung Melayu urban village, namely Jalan Kebon Pala II and Jalan Tanah Rendah.
“Up to 12.00 Western Indonesian Time, flooding on Jalan Kebon Pala II reached 80 to 125 centimetres, whilst Jalan Tanah Rendah stood at 80 centimetres,” Rangga said.
In the Bidara Cina urban village, flooding on Jalan Baiduri Bulan and Jalan Tanjung Lengkong Gang Macan reached 100 to 120 centimetres.
The Cawang urban village saw flooding on Jalan Taman Harapan and Jalan Raya Kalibata reaching 80 centimetres, whilst Jalan Tanjung Sanyang recorded 40 centimetres.
“The Cililitan urban village on Jalan Musola Al-Hikmah and Jalan Seruni reached 80 centimetres. Then, the Balekambang urban village on Jalan Jembatan 1 reached 80 centimetres,” Rangga disclosed.
He urged residents in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant and immediately report to authorities should water levels rise or evacuation assistance be required.
“Stay cautious. Flood situation data updates continue to be communicated periodically,” Rangga said.
