Jakarta (ANTARA) -

The Thousand Islands Regency Government, through the Sub-Department of Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf), trained business actors to maximise product marketing digitally via a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) programme for the Creative Economy titled “From Creation to Promotion Strategy” in 2026.

“A total of fifty business actors from Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) participated in the training to broaden their horizons in developing the businesses they run,” said the Head of the Sub-Department of Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) of the Thousand Islands, Sonti Pangaribuan, in Jakarta on Thursday.

He stated that the activity aims to equip creative economy actors with broader insights and competent skills in developing their businesses.

According to him, in the current era of globalisation, having good products alone is not enough. However, business actors are also required to be able to capture, record, and market their products attractively through social media.

The training focused on three flagship sub-sectors: fashion through batik-making training, photography, and film, animation, and videography.

According to him, through this focus, participants are expected to be able to improve product quality as well as their promotion strategies.

The Thousand Islands Parekraf Sub-Department collaborated with several parties, including Batik Gobang, the Indonesian Professional Photographers Association (APFI), as well as practitioners in photography, videography, and digital marketing.

“We packaged this activity with various methods, from theory and practice, inspiration-sharing sessions (sharing sessions), to ongoing mentoring for participants through online communication groups,” he said.

He urged participants to make optimal use of this activity as an initial step to expand the reach of their promotions.

Sonti expressed optimism that Thousand Islands batik products and tourism destinations can become increasingly known, not only at the local level but also abroad.

“Let us prove that from these small islands, big strategies can emerge that are capable of driving the regional economy,” he emphasised.

Meanwhile, the Head of Untung Jawa Island, Muslim, assessed that the materials provided cover theory and practice of batik-making, digital branding strategies, visual aesthetics in photography, and short video content creation.

This becomes added value for participants in developing their businesses.

“I hope that creative economy actors on Untung Jawa Island can develop their businesses sustainably and contribute to regional economic growth,” he said.

One participant, Nurkholis (35), gained many new experiences and encouraged participants to be more creative in creating promotional content.

“We hope that activities like this can continue to be held so that business actors can develop further and compete in wider markets,” he said.
