The Thousand Islands Police (Polres Kepulauan Seribu) and its subordinate precinct units simultaneously carried out mosque-cleaning operations across the entire Thousand Islands jurisdiction. The activity is a concrete implementation of the Bang Jasri (Bhayangkara Jakarta Asri) programme, a strategic initiative widely launched across the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya).

The community service effort involved dozens of personnel deployed directly to the field. In a spirit of mutual cooperation, officers focused not only on the main prayer areas but also attended to every corner of the mosques, from cleaning ablution facilities and scrubbing courtyard floors to tidying other public amenities.

Thousand Islands Police Chief AKBP Argadija Putra affirmed that the mosque-cleaning drive is a tangible manifestation of the Indonesian National Police’s role as protector, guardian, and servant of the community. He said the police bear a moral responsibility to deliver direct benefits that residents can feel, including through the maintenance of places of worship.

“The Bang Jasri programme provides momentum to strengthen synergy between the police and the community in creating a clean, comfortable, and conducive environment, particularly in the Thousand Islands area,” said AKBP Argadija on Monday (23/2/2026).

Argadija noted that the presence of personnel in places of worship serves as a symbol of the closeness between law enforcement and the religious and social values upheld by residents. This is expected to shift public perception more positively towards the role of the police beyond their technical security duties.

Beyond cleanliness, the Bang Jasri programme is designed as a crucial opportunity to strengthen cross-sectoral synergy between the police and communities in the archipelagic region. By creating a pleasant and comfortable environment, a conducive atmosphere in the Thousand Islands is expected to be maintained more stably.

The activity was also prepared so that residents can carry out their worship during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 H with greater devotion and comfort. Well-maintained mosque cleanliness is believed to enhance the spiritual tranquillity of congregants during tarawih prayers and Quranic recitation sessions.
