Thousand Islands KPU Updates Voter Data Through Open Plenary Meeting
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Thousand Islands Election Commission (KPU) continues to update voter data in the island region of DKI Jakarta province, which was approved in the Open Plenary Meeting for the Recapitulation of the Ongoing Voter Data Update (PDPB) for 2026. “This activity is part of efforts to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and sustainable voter data,” said the Head of the Thousand Islands KPU, Iman Cahyadi, in Jakarta on Friday. Based on the recapitulation results, the number of registered voters in the Thousand Islands Regency is 21,296 individuals. This number is divided into the North Thousand Islands Sub-district with 12,397 voters consisting of 6,222 male voters and 6,175 female voters. Meanwhile, the South Thousand Islands Sub-district recorded 8,899 voters consisting of 4,478 male voters and 4,421 female voters. Iman explained that this plenary meeting is a follow-up to the coordination process with stakeholders and the follow-up to receiving various inputs and reports before finalisation. The Thousand Islands KPU, according to Iman, has conducted limited Matching and Verification (Coklit) in two locations, namely Tidung Island and Kelapa Island on 30 March 2026. They also opened opportunities for stakeholders to report citizens who meet or do not meet the requirements as voters, accompanied by supporting documents. Iman added that cross-sector coordination continues, including with the TNI-Polri, to ensure the voter data update runs optimally, including for citizens who have reached 17 years of age or are married. Meanwhile, the Head of the Bawaslu for the Thousand Islands Regency, Rahadi Pramono, assessed that the voter data update process is running well, although it is dynamic in nature. According to him, the limited Coklit ran smoothly, and this voter data update is ongoing, so it can change at any time. He emphasised the importance of accuracy, transparency, and public participation in the process. In addition, voter data must be valid and transparent with very important public participation considering the limited resources available. “We also ensure that the entire process complies with regulations, and if there are recommendations, they will be followed up immediately,” he said.
