This Year’s Nuzulul Quran Commemoration to Be Held at the State Palace

Jakarta — Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar said the Nuzulul Quran commemoration would be held at the State Palace after receiving instructions from President Prabowo Subianto regarding the event’s venue. ‘I have just briefed the President on Nuzulul Quran preparations. God willing, the upcoming Nuzulul Quran will be held in Jakarta, specifically at the State Palace,’ Nasaruddin told reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (4 March 2026).

Nasaruddin explained there were several alternative venues for the commemorations, including the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), Istiqlal Mosque, or the Presidential Palace. Based on the President’s guidance, the event will be held at the State Palace.

He also said the meeting discussed the scheduling of zakat payments by the President and officials, which are planned to take place at the State Palace.

Additionally, he reported preparations ahead of Eid al-Fitr, including takbiran activities coinciding with Hari Raya Nyepi in Bali on 19 March.
