This University Achieves 165th World Ranking in World University Rankings for Innovation 2026
President University’s contribution to the world of education has once again received international recognition after successfully achieving the 165th rank globally in the Overall Ranking category of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026. This achievement strengthens President University’s position as one of the Indonesian higher education institutions actively presenting innovation and driving positive change in the international educational landscape.
WURI is an international ranking body that focuses on innovation, real impact, and the contribution of universities to society. Unlike general university rankings that assess academic and research aspects, WURI emphasises the ability of higher education institutions to provide creative solutions, innovative learning, industry collaboration, and educational transformations relevant to global needs.
In WURI 2026, 24 innovation categories were evaluated. From these categories, President University successfully entered the global Top 100 in 18 categories and broke into the global Top 5 in four specific areas: Culture/Value (5th Place), Infrastructure/Technologies (5th Place), AI-Based Learning and Learning Transformation (3rd Place), and Inclusive Social Innovation for the Underserved (5th Place).
This achievement serves as evidence of President University’s commitment to building an innovative educational ecosystem that is adaptive to technological developments and responsive to global challenges. This success aligns with the university’s vision to create an international-standard learning environment that integrates education, technology, and industrial needs.
“President University is always committed to providing learning that can support the future of all students. We continue to develop various innovations in daily learning to ensure students can keep up with global developments, so that the knowledge obtained is not merely theoretical but can be applied directly,” said the Vice Rector for Academic, Research, and Innovation of President University, Dr Adhi Setyo Santoso, in an official statement on Tuesday (2/6).
One of the innovations recognised in WURI 2026 is ‘RobloxVerse Learning: Immersive Classroom Experiences in the Metaverse’ and ‘HumAIn Learning: AI Empowering Learning Transformation with Human Empathy’. Through RobloxVerse, President University provides metaverse-based learning that allows students to participate in various virtual simulations, such as laboratories, mock trials, and Model United Nations (MUN), within a more interactive and collaborative digital environment. This innovation is designed to meet the needs of modern learning in line with technological developments and the characteristics of the digital generation.
Meanwhile, HumAIn Learning utilises Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to create learning that is more inclusive, adaptive, and empathy-oriented. This technology is used in various features such as multilingual image-to-speech, learning analytics, material translation, and data-based personalised learning, which helps students learn more effectively and according to their individual needs. Through this approach, students are also equipped with the ability to use AI as a tool to accelerate work, such as analysing marketing trends, creating simple coding for website development, and assisting in legal document checks.
President University emphasises that the use of AI in HumAIn Learning is not intended to replace the role of lecturers, but rather to strengthen the learning process while maintaining the lecturer as the centre of academic interaction and the primary mentor in student development. President University also presents various programmes focusing on community empowerment, sustainability, and the strengthening of human values, such as ‘Green Hands, Strong Futures: Women Farmers Leading Sustainable Change’ and ‘The Culture of Care: Humanising Education for a Responsible and Thriving Environment’.
