JAKARTA - The commander of the BAIS TNI Headquarters Detachment (Dandenma), Colonel Infantry Heri Heryadi, has expressed his disappointment towards his subordinates who threw acid at Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS.

The four defendants are Sergeant Two Edi Sudarko, First Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya, and First Lieutenant Sami Lakka.

“As the BAIS Detachment Commander, what are your feelings?” the judge asked at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday (6/5/2026).

During the trial, the judge also questioned Heri about the institutional punishment for the four attackers.

“Has there been any punishment from the institution?” the judge asked.

“Not yet, because they were immediately handed over to the investigators,” Heri replied.

“What is their current status?” the judge asked.

“They have become non-commissioned officers of the BAIS Detachment,” Heri explained.

Heri added that the allowances provided to the four perpetrators have been revoked by the institution.

“Have the allowances been cut?” the judge asked.

“Only the positional and performance allowances have been lost,” Heri replied.

The motive was that they were offended by Andrie’s interruption of the discussion on revising the TNI Law at the Fairmont Jakarta Hotel on 16 March 2025.

“The defendants considered Andrie Yunus to have insulted the TNI institution and even trampled on the TNI institution,” said Military Prosecutor Lieutenant Colonel Corps of Law (Chk) TNI Muhammad Iswadi during the trial at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday.

The four defendants are charged with multiple articles, namely Article 469 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code as the primary charge, Article 468 paragraph (1) as subsidiary, and Articles 467 paragraphs (1) and (2) as further subsidiary, in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023.
