The Bengkulu Provincial Government, through the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), is once again providing relief for motor vehicle owners. In addition to a 50% discount on vehicle mutation fees, the Provincial Government is also launching a motor vehicle tax amnesty programme. According to the official Instagram account of Samsat Bengkulu, this programme includes exemptions from motor vehicle tax (PKB) fines, arrears of principal vehicle tax, and a 50% reduction in mutation fees for vehicles entering Bengkulu Province. The 50% discount policy on taxes for vehicle mutations into Bengkulu Province is scheduled to run from 1 April to 31 August 2026. “The 50% discount programme for vehicle mutations is planned to run from April to August 2026,” said Hadianto, quoted from the official Bapenda Bengkulu website, Sunday (26/4/2026). Meanwhile, the motor vehicle tax amnesty programme will run more specifically from 1 May to 31 August 2026. The local government hopes that this policy can be utilised by the public to settle their overdue tax obligations. Hadianto explained that the programme aims to encourage owners of vehicles with out-of-province plates to promptly mutate to Bengkulu plates (BD), while also organising vehicle administration in the region. According to him, the exemption of fines and reduction in mutation fees is expected to increase public compliance. Additionally, the programme has the potential to boost Original Local Revenue (PAD) from the vehicle tax sector. Bapenda advises the public to prepare the required documents in advance, given the limited duration of the programme. The documents typically needed include the original STNK and BPKB along with photocopies, the new owner’s ID matching the mutation area, and the vehicle sale receipt for the name transfer process. The programme services can be accessed at all Samsat offices in the districts and cities across Bengkulu Province. The government also reminds the public not to use intermediary services or brokers to ensure the process runs transparently. “We invite the public to take advantage of this opportunity. By organising vehicle administration properly, we contribute to regional development,” said Hadianto.
