Jakarta, TopBusiness – As part of efforts to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and global collaboration, Living Lab Ventures (LLV), the corporate venture capital arm of Sinar Mas Land, continues to develop the International Landing Pad programme as a soft-landing platform for global companies to enter Indonesia’s potential market.

The programme is designed to provide access to strategic resources, a more structured understanding of the market, and connections with the startup network, industry partners, and the Sinar Mas Land business ecosystem.

Supported by the BSD City ecosystem as a living laboratory and implementation sandbox, the International Landing Pad programme has been joined by 15 technology companies from 6 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

These countries include Japan, Australia, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia. This initiative also receives full support from the Ministry of Creative Economy/Bekraf as part of efforts to accelerate the startup economic transformation, enhance technology transfer, and strengthen national digital economic competitiveness.

Tri Wahyudi, Director of Applications, Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Ministry of Creative Economy/Bekraf, stated that the International Landing Pad initiative by LLV is a strategic step in attracting quality investments to the applications subsector.

“This programme is expected not only to open collaboration opportunities with global companies but also to encourage technology transfer, strengthen local digital talent capacity, and accelerate the growth of innovation-based startups in Indonesia. The government will continue to facilitate this ecosystem through regulatory support, partnerships, and talent development to make Indonesia increasingly competitive on a global level,” he said.

The International Landing Pad provides workspace for two representatives from each company for six months, complete with access to various facilities in the BSD City innovation ecosystem, such as collaboration spaces, community centres, makerspaces, and innovation hubs.

Through this integrated environment, participants can directly interact with industry players, startups, and innovation communities, while also attending various networking activities to build strategic partnerships.

The ecosystem also supports companies in understanding Indonesia’s market dynamics and opening more targeted collaboration opportunities with local partners.

Bayu Seto, Partner at Living Lab Ventures, said that they see many global companies viewing Indonesia as a market with great growth potential.

However, he added, in the expansion process, they often face challenges in understanding local market dynamics and building the right connections.

“Through the International Landing Pad, we want to provide a platform that helps global companies explore market opportunities in Indonesia or test solutions, while also opening access to the startup ecosystem, industry partners, and relevant business networks in an integrated environment,” said Bayu in his statement on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

“With this approach, companies not only gain market access but also a stronger foundation to test business models, accelerate validation, and build the right strategic partnerships from the early stages,” he said.

The main advantage of the International Landing Pad lies in its integration with BSD City, a mega township developed by Sinar Mas Land spanning 6,000 hectares with a population of more than 500,000 people.

This self-sufficient city presents an integrated modern ecosystem, encompassing residential, commercial, educational, healthcare areas, to shopping and entertainment centres.

The ecosystem is also supported by the application of various technology categories relevant to the development of industrial and urban solutions (smart city), ranging from advanced materials and construction solutions, smart infrastructure and building systems, environmental and sustainability technology, industrial applications, to urban technology solutions.

Through this programme, LLV presents a collaboration model that allows global investors and innovators to build a stronger and more sustainable presence in Indonesia.

By strengthening the strategic collaboration-based investment model, LLV reaffirms its commitment as a platform that connects global capital, innovation, and the local ecosystem in a sustainable synergy to drive urban innovation acceleration, while strategically and structuredly attracting global investor participation.
