The Directorate of Economic and Special Crimes (Dittipideksus) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has examined the celebrity couple Dude Harlino and Alyssa Soebandono in connection with the alleged fraud and embezzlement case at PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI). They were questioned due to their previous roles as brand ambassadors for the fintech company.
“We want to obtain statements regarding the roles of the two witnesses as brand ambassadors at PT DSI,” said the head of the PT DSI case investigation team, Brigadier General Susatyo Purnomo Condro, to reporters at Bareskrim Polri in South Jakarta on Thursday (2/4/2026).
Susatyo stated that his team is delving into whether PT DSI’s management provided specific information or narratives to the brand ambassadors for dissemination to the public. Susatyo noted that both had collaborated with PT DSI for approximately three years.
“Of course, when they chose DSI as a sharia investment option, we want to explore whether DSI also provided explanations to these two witnesses to enable effective promotion for DSI,” Susatyo said.
“We examined the contract between them and DSI, including fees and so on. All of that is part of the examination, as well as how they understood DSI’s business plan to convey it to the wider public,” Susatyo added.
Susatyo stated that the results of the examination of Dude and Alyssa will be further explored and cross-referenced with other evidence. Investigators, he said, do not rule out the possibility of recalling them if necessary.
When asked about the potential legal involvement of the two, Susatyo emphasised that it is still under investigation.
“Whether they were purely professional or had other involvement, that is part of our examination material,” he said.
As is known, Bareskrim Polri has designated four individuals as suspects in this case. They are:
PT DSI Director General, Taufiq Aljufri;
Former PT DSI Director, Mery Yuniarni;
PT DSI Commissioner, Arie Rizal Lesmana;
Former PT DSI Director for the period 2018-2024 and Founder of PT DSI, AS.
Statement from Dude Harlino
Actor Dude Harlino affirmed that he has no involvement in the internal management of PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI). Dude stated that his dealings with PT DSI were limited to his work as a brand ambassador (BA).
This was conveyed after Dude and his wife, Alyssa Soebandono, were questioned regarding the alleged fraud and embezzlement case at PT DSI at Bareskrim Polri on Thursday (2/4). Their legal representative, Muhammad Al Ayubi Harahap, revealed that the questioning primarily explored the roles and duties of his clients as brand ambassadors for the company.
“The questions were around their job descriptions at PT DSI as brand ambassadors. What their work entailed, and it was explained that it was indeed professional work, a working relationship, and the tasks were proportional,” Ayubi told reporters at Bareskrim Polri in South Jakarta on Thursday (2/4).
Ayubi explained that Dude’s collaboration with PT DSI was bound by an official contract, renewed annually.
“Mr Dude was a brand ambassador for PT DSI, and there is clearly a contract for it. The contract is annual and extended. Beyond that, there is no other involvement,” he clarified.
He added that his clients were unaware of the company’s internal activities. Therefore, he said, questions from investigators touching on internal management aspects were answered by his clients with the assertion that they were external parties to the company.
“Since we are not internal to PT DSI, we are external parties whose services were hired by PT DSI, with agreements outlined in the contract and implementation of that contract,” he stated.
In line with this, Dude also assured that he has no connection to PT DSI’s internal management. He emphasised that his relationship with PT DSI was limited to work.
“So, it was professional, only as a brand ambassador. That’s essentially all it was,” Dude said.
