Jakarta (ANTARA) - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo targets the total transactions during the Mudik to Jakarta programme period until 31 March to exceed Rp25 trillion.

“Up to before Eid last week, the transaction record was already Rp21 trillion, and we hope that by 31 March it can be above Rp25 trillion, hopefully,” said Pramono at City Hall on Wednesday.

Pramono stated that the Mudik to Jakarta programme is not only enthusiastically welcomed by the capital’s residents.

He said the programme is also followed by various provinces, including Semarang with transactions of Rp8 billion and Surabaya Rp6.2 billion.

“Many provinces are ultimately utilising it,” Pramono explained.

Not only that, he mentioned that the “Mudik to Jakarta” programme has received a good response from the public, evidenced by the increased number of visits to several tourist destinations in the capital.

During the Eid al-Fitr period, Pramono said, the number of public visits to tourist destinations in Jakarta experienced a quite significant increase.

For example, the Monas area on 22–24 March was visited by 126,790 people, Ragunan Zoo by 222,991 visitors, and Ancol by around 155,000 visitors.

An increase in public transport passengers also occurred during the free public transport period on 21–22 March.

Pramono detailed that MRT users reached 135,117 passengers, an increase of around 59 per cent compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, LRT users were recorded at 9,987 passengers, an increase of around 6 per cent compared to the previous year.

The programme carries the theme “Jakarta Lengang, Liburan dan Belanja Senang, Cuan Datang”.

Pramono said the theme was chosen because he believes that although there are many people returning home from Jakarta, the capital will still be bustling during the Eid holiday moment.

The “Mudik to Jakarta” Programme will run from 27 February to 31 March 2026.

The packages offered in the Mudik to Jakarta Programme are as follows:

  1. Hotel promotions in the form of special prices and pay for two get three nights at 26 hotels in Jakarta;

  2. Shopping vouchers at eight ITC Group outlets

  3. Discounts or special prices at several tourist areas, including: recreation/entertainment venues, museums, cinemas, golf courses, spas, etc.;

  4. Discounts or special prices for Citilink airline and Kereta Api Indonesia train services to Jakarta routes

  5. City tour personal service packages.
