This is the Photo of the Face of the Acid Attacker on Andrie Yunus, Genuine from CCTV Not AI-Generated
Police have successfully obtained the faces of two out of four suspected perpetrators in the acid attack on Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, Andrie Yunus.
Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanudin, emphasised that the released photo is purely taken from CCTV footage and not the result of editing or artificial intelligence (AI).
“This is the result of image capture from the CCTV we have obtained. We emphasise that no changes or processing have been made at all, so we can be accountable that this is not the result of artificial intelligence (AI),” said Iman during a press conference at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
From CCTV tracing results, police suspect the perpetrators number more than four.
“However, from the investigation results, it does not rule out the possibility that the perpetrators are more than four as previously mentioned,” added Iman.
“We suspect that the two individuals we are showing from one police data are initials BHC and initials MAK,” he stated.
Photos of the two perpetrators were displayed without any additional processing, making them clear and verifiable.
TNI Deputy Chief of Staff for Military Police, Major General TNI Yusri Nuryanto, stated that the four suspects have been received and detained at Pomdam Jaya.
“This morning I received four individuals suspected of carrying out the assault on brother Andrie Yunus,” said Yusri.
The motive and roles of each perpetrator are still being investigated by the TNI.
The victim suffered burns to his eyes, face, chest, and hands, covering about 24 percent of his body according to the initial diagnosis by the medical team at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. Currently, Andrie is undergoing intensive treatment.
Coordinator of KontraS Working Body, Dimas Bagus Arya, conveyed that Andrie’s condition is now medically stable, but the legal process against the perpetrators continues.
