Mount Anak Krakatau emitted smoke that was visible from Sebesi Island in South Lampung Regency, Lampung, on Tuesday (8/9/2026). Based on monitoring carried out on 7–8 September 2026, the Centre for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) stated that Mount Anak Krakatau experienced two eruption earthquakes, four blowing earthquakes, 76 low-frequency earthquakes, 100 hybrid/multiphase earthquakes, continuous tremor, eight shallow volcanic earthquakes and nine deep volcanic earthquakes.
