This is the Appearance of Jakarta's Underground Railway Line at a Depth of 28 Metres
Workers are actively engaged in the construction of the MRT Jakarta Phase 2A project from Harmoni to Sawah Besar in Jakarta on Tuesday (12/5/2026). The MRT Jakarta Phase 2A project for the route from Bundaran HI to Harmoni is targeted to start operating by the end of 2027. This target is set alongside the progress of the underground transportation project construction, which has now reached 59.7 percent. Currently, around 3,800 local workers are involved in the national strategic project. The construction of this phase is acknowledged to have high technical challenges, especially at Sawah Besar and Mangga Besar Stations, which reach a depth of 28 metres below the ground surface. Meanwhile, the overall construction of Phase 2A up to the Kota Tua area is targeted to be completed by the end of 2029. On the other hand, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also accelerating land acquisition for the MRT project on the East-West route. This new line is projected to start operating in 2030 to strengthen the integration and connectivity of mass transportation in the Capital City.
