This Is Pertamina's LPG Supply Ship Reaching Remote Areas
PT Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing energy in areas with limited access. One example is the operation of the LPG ship MT Gas Attaka to regions in Kalimantan and Sulawesi, including Amurang and Donggala.
The ship has a cargo capacity of around 1,700 metric tonnes (MT) per voyage, playing a role in supporting LPG supplies to the destination areas.
In fulfilling its role, MT Gas Attaka routinely travels by sea for several days to transport LPG to the target regions. The ship is operated by a crew working in shifts around the clock to ensure distribution proceeds safely and on time.
The destination areas have geographical characteristics that are not always easily accessible by land routes, so energy distribution relies heavily on maritime logistics connectivity.
In this context, the ship fleet serves as a link between supply points and distribution terminals in the destination areas. Each ship voyage is part of the effort to maintain the sustainability of energy supplies for communities in regions with limited access.
LPG ship voyages are conducted through route and schedule arrangements that are continuously adjusted to the dynamics of needs in the field, allowing distribution to align more closely with conditions in each region.
Director of Logistics Fleet at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Arif Yunianto, explained that LPG distribution management is carried out dynamically to support the smooth delivery of energy.
βThe movement of LPG ships continues to be arranged according to needs in various regions. Fleets like MT Gas Attaka are part of the distribution system connecting supply points to distribution terminals, including in areas with limited access,β Arif stated in a written remark on Friday (10/4/2026).
According to him, energy distribution is an interconnected system, so balance between supply and consumption is an important factor in supporting smooth delivery.
In line with this, Pertamina Patra Niaga encourages the public to use LPG wisely and according to needs, so that distribution can proceed more evenly and reach all levels of society.
All LPG ship operations are carried out with strict HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) standards to ensure sailing safety while supporting the reliability of energy distribution.
This support is strengthened by owned and chartered ship fleets, with 9 owned LPG ships and more than 30 chartered ships operating to reach various regions.
Through the continuous movement of fleets operating on various routes, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to support LPG distribution to reach regions with diverse geographical characteristics in Indonesia.
