This is Bernadya's Favourite Feature on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
SAN FRANCISCO, KOMPAS.com - The anti-glare screen feature, or Privacy Display, on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is the flagship feature for musician Bernadya Ribka Jayakusuma.
This was revealed by Bernadya after the Galaxy Unpacked event at the Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco, California, USA.
Privacy Display is a feature that can block the view from others by making the screen dark when viewed from the side, but remains bright when viewed from the front.
This feature is claimed to be the first of its kind, so Samsung claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the first smartphone in the world to be equipped with this feature.
For Bernadya, Privacy Display is her favourite feature after trying it out directly.
“I like Privacy Display the most because people next to me can’t see what I’m looking at,” Bernadya told KompasTekno, Thursday (February 26, 2026).
The singer of the song “Untungnya” also said that the Privacy Display feature on the Samsung S26 Ultra is embedded in the device’s screen, so there is no need to add separate accessories such as anti-spy tempered glass.
According to Bernadya, this feature is very useful when in public places.
“This feature is perfect for me who often suddenly thinks about writing songs when in public. If I’m paranoid about being watched by people, I just activate it,” she said.
According to Ilham Indrawan, Senior Manager of MX Product Marketing at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, the Privacy Display feature is supported by two screen pixel structures, namely narrow and wide pixels.
When the Privacy Display feature is active, the phone screen only runs the narrow pixels, while the wide pixels are turned off.
“As a result, the display can only be seen from one side, or the front of the screen. (The) right, left, top, and bottom sides cannot be seen,” said Ilham in an online interview session with media attending the Galaxy Unpacked.
Meanwhile, when the Privacy Display feature is deactivated, the Samsung S26 Ultra screen runs both pixel structures at the same time. Therefore, users can see the display from various angles.
According to Ilham, this structure is only supported by the Galaxy S26 Ultra screen, not including its two other models.
Samsung also allows users to set which applications they want to “hide” from others. For example, only certain applications, such as instant messaging applications, social media or other applications.
In fact, Privacy Display can also be applied to streaming applications, such as Netflix, so that others cannot easily peek at the content you are watching.
The Privacy Display feature is available in the Settings menu. This feature can also be accessed from the Quick Panel, next to the media output and screen brightness settings.
