This Country Secretly Reaps Huge Profits from Shipping 2,500 Weapons to Israel
Amnesty International has revealed that a number of both state-owned and private companies in India have shipped at least 2,596 military supplies to Israel during the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The latest report details the delivery of various types of weaponry, ammunition, and military components conducted between October 2023 and November 2025.
Agnes Callamard, Secretary General of Amnesty International, emphasised that the Indian government should be aware of the significant risks behind the policy of facilitating these arms transfers. She highlighted how commercial profits continue to be pursued by the relevant companies amidst the ongoing suffering in the conflict zone.
“Given the provisional measures from the International Court of Justice which recognise the risk of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, Indian authorities cannot credibly argue that they were unaware of this. The decision to permit and facilitate arms transfers to Israel carries great risk and contributes to serious violations of international law,” said Callamard, as reported by Middle East Eye.
According to the report titled “Made in India: The Supply of Weapons and Ammunition to Israel”, the total shipments include 564,970 explosive weapon parts, including drone warheads and artillery shell casings. Additionally, there were 390,516 military-grade small arms parts and hundreds of combat vehicle components sent to Israel’s primary military suppliers.
“Indian companies continue to profit by supplying components and ammunition intended for the Israeli defence sector,” Callamard added.
Meanwhile, defence relations between New Delhi and Tel Aviv have seen significant acceleration over the last decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India is currently recorded as the world’s largest buyer of Israeli weapons, and several Israeli arms manufacturers have even established production facilities through joint ventures with Indian companies.
“India’s export issues, including any exports that directly or indirectly have military implications, are guided by our national interests and our commitment to various regimes,” stated Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in December 2024.
The Indian government remains one of Israel’s strongest supporters and has rejected calls to impose an arms embargo. As of July 2026, it is recorded that at least 247,387 Palestinians have been killed or injured since the Israeli military campaign was launched in Gaza in response to attacks by Hamas.
