Thiry joins Ford team

LONDON (Reuter): Belgian Bruno Thiry was named yesterday as
number two driver in the Ford Repsol team led by Carlos Sainz for
six of the eight remaining races of the world rally championship
season.

Thiry will take part in the Acropolis, Argentina, 100 Lakes,
Australia, San Remo and Catalunya rallies.

The second Ford Repsol Escort will be driven by Swede Stig
Blomqvist in Kenya's Safari Rally and Briton Gwyndaf Evans in the
Indonesia event.
