Indonesia’s Mining Industry Holding MIND ID is marking its three-year journey as a strategic active holding with continuously solid performance growth, supported by strong national foundations and an increasingly broad role at the global level.
Entering its third year, MIND ID not only reflects the passage of time but also a phase of strengthening its role as a driver of national downstreaming capable of creating greater added value from Indonesia’s natural resource wealth.
The company continues to move forward from Indonesia towards broader contributions to the world, in line with the vision of “MIND ID for Indonesia and the World.”
Over the past three years, MIND ID has ensured that the management and processing of mineral and coal resources are carried out in an integrated manner to increase added value while providing tangible benefits to society and the national economy.
This strengthening is manifested through integration among group members, including ANTAM, Bukit Asam, Freeport Indonesia, INALUM, TIMAH, and Vale Indonesia. This synergy forms the foundation for building an interconnected and competitive industrial supply chain.
One manifestation is the construction of bauxite processing and refining facilities into alumina and aluminium in Mempawah, West Kalimantan, which connects and strengthens the national aluminium processing supply chain.
In addition, the national gold supply chain integration continues to be developed through synergies between group entities, in line with the operation of precious metal refining facilities in Gresik.
MIND ID also plays an active role in forming an electric vehicle battery and energy storage ecosystem based on nickel downstreaming. This step positions Indonesia as an important part of the global supply chain.
According to MIND ID’s President Director Maroef Sjamsoeddin, mineral and coal downstreaming is a strategic government mandate that aligns with President’s Asta Cita policy direction in promoting industrialisation and increasing domestic added value.
“In these three years, we have strengthened synergy and collaboration among group members so that every commodity does not stop as raw material but becomes part of an interconnected industrial supply chain that creates greater added value,” he stated in a press release on Tuesday (24/3/2026).
Maroef conveyed that MIND ID is a mining holding company that consistently increases downstreaming to become a key driver in Indonesia’s economic structure transformation, while strengthening the foundation for long-term growth.
According to him, the established integration not only opens up more optimal business potential for company performance but also strengthens the domestic industrial ecosystem and reduces dependence on raw material exports.
On the other hand, this collaboration also drives job creation and economic growth in various operational areas.
Looking ahead, MIND ID will continue to expand the development of integrated strategic downstreaming projects, from strengthening the electric vehicle energy storage battery ecosystem to bauxite-alumina-aluminium downstreaming.
MIND ID will also continue to expand collaborations with global companies to create more advanced industrial innovations to increase competitiveness, as well as ensure the sustainability of future downstreaming and industrialisation.
