Third of four towers sold at Four Seasons complex
JAKARTA (JP): The Four Seasons Regent Residences complex has sold 45 percent of rooms in the third of its four towers currently under construction in Setia Budi district, its managing director said yesterday.
David Salim said the percentage of sales occurred within the past two weeks.
The good response from the public is in line with the successful sales of the first and second towers, in which Four Seasons has sold 95 percent of the rooms, Salim said.
The construction of the first two towers, which have 234 apartments, started last November and is scheduled to be completed in October 1998. The third and fourth towers are expected to be completed in December 1999.
The rooms of the four 35-story tower project, which is estimated to cost about $190 million, are being sold for between $500,000 and $3.5 million a piece.
Each tower has 12 penthouses which will cost $1.2 million each and two grand penthouses which will cost $3.5 million each.
The Four Seasons apartments are owned by PT Dewata Wibawa and two Japanese companies, Nissho Iwai Corp and Toyo Real Estate Co Ltd.
In conjunction with the third tower's sale, the company held a six-day painting exhibition, displaying paintings by well-known European painters, including Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall and Pierre Auguste Renoir.
The exhibition was opened by Minister of Education and Culture Wardiman Djojonegoro at the Four Seasons Regent Residence's model at Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 77, South Jakarta, last night.
"This exhibition is expected to help improve the horizons of local artists and give them a chance to know more about European paintings from the last three centuries," Sudwikatmono, president of PT Dewata Wibawa, said.
The exhibition, titled The European Masters, is being conducted jointly with D'Art Sepia Gallery; Mrs. Astari Rasjid, arts consultant for the Four Seasons; and Mitra Mandiri Foundation, an affiliate of United Way International, chaired by Mrs. Atie Wardiman.
Sudwikatmono also said last night his company had donated Rp 25 million (US$10,245) to the Mitra Mandiri Foundation to help the foundation's activities, which include helping street children.
Atie Wardiman welcomed PT Dewata Wibawa's donation, saying the fund would benefit the foundation's social programs, and especially the children of poor families. (hhr)
