Third law summit to be held
JAKARTA: High-ranking officials from the country's legal institutions are expected to attend the third law summit later this month in a bid to join hands in eradicating corruption at those institutions.
Supreme Court justice Abdurrahman Saleh said on Thursday that any anticorruption drive should begin with cleansing legal institutions from within.
"Support from other institutions are necessary, but more important is political will from each legal institution," he said at a press conference.
The event's attendees included Ahmad Santosa from the Partnership for Government Reform in Indonesia and Insp. Gen. Farouk Abdullah, head of the Police Staff College (PTIK).
Officials attending the law summit are expected to produce a master plan on how to reform the country's legal institutions. -- JP
